Golf Grips Buying Guide
Golf grips are often the most overlooked piece of equipment in a golfer's bag. Players will research and change their ball, their driver, their putter, and their shoes but rarely think about their grips.
The grip is the only part of a golf club you actually touch during a swing, so it can be very important to find the right grip for you and ensure your grips are clean and fit for play.
There are many types of grips including: rubber, corded, wrap, lightweight and Putter grips. The new SuperStroke putter grips have taken the golfing market by storm and seem to be hugely popular amongst both Tour players and club golfers.
Golf grips are very much down to preference however layers of tape and sizing can be dependent on the size of your hands and the way you play the game.
Pop into the Dunston Hall Golf shop this weekend and take a look and feel free to ask us any questions you have.
Life begins at 50
We hear a lot about this new generation of young golfers who spend as much time in the gym as they do on the course; the guys who bomb it a mile and reduce 7,500 yard courses to pitch and putt.
Now, we're not saying Paul Broadhurst doesn't go to the gym and we're not suggesting he's short off the tee by any means, but the 50-year-old thoroughly deserved his moment in the spotlight this weekend and it reminded us of one of the reasons we love golf so much - age is just a number!
'Broady' produced a flawless final round at Carnoustie to claim a two-shot victory at the Senior Open Championship, a fine way to celebrate his debut in the event. The high-class field contained names - the likes of Tom Watson (66), Bernhard Langer (58) and Ian Woosnam (58) - who would have made Broadhurst feel quite the whippersnapper, as we were treated to a weekend of high drama courtesy of some of the game's biggest names from yesteryear.
This week sees the final Major of the season get underway at Baltusrol in Springfield, N.J., the drama keeps on coming! Whatever happens, you probably won't see a better final-day performance than Broady's four-under 68, quite some performance at Carnoustie we must say, check out the highlights if you missed the action.
