Competition Results
This week we had eight ladies who played the Stableford in somewhat milder conditions than we have had previously, although the wind did chill off the final few holes for many of you. Angie Lain emerged victorious, with 35 points. Against a competition scratch of 74, her stellar play netted her a one-stroke handicap cut! Congratulations, Angie!
New Charity for 2017
The charity that we are supporting this year has changed (ask me privately if you want details). I am very happy to report that the committee overwhelmingly endorsed the selection of 'The Feed' as the Lady Captain's charity for this year. In choosing this organisation we recognise our own role in helping to support the needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals in Norwich in ways that allow them to get back into employment and to restore dignity to their lives.
Confidence, self-esteem, inspiration and 'daring to dream big' are a lot of ingredients to pack into a sandwich - but The Feed do their best to distill this into everyone they help and get them back on track.
And finally, The Feed even offers catering! So please consider them when you have a catering need in your home, office or organisation.
The Feed deliver originality and creativity, with a keen eye for detail and planning. No matter what your needs are, from a modest lunch to an à la carte meal, from the super healthy to the downright hearty, they will make it happen.

Date and Rule Changes
Some of the dates on the recently circulated fixture list have changed, so a new fixture list will be sent to you on email shortly.
Posters are up in the locker room and the ladies' toilet concerning a new Local Rule approved by the R&A for 2017. Please read one to make sure you are up to date with this change. It could end up saving you a stroke.
Alternate Day Stableford
Just a reminder: The trial of an "Alternate Day" Stableford that was scheduled to run out this month has been extended through April in order to see if better weather will bring out more players who are unable to play in the regular Thursday Stableford. At this time, the Alternate Day Stableford will run on the Tuesday preceding the Thursday Stableford for March and April.
If you cannot play on Thursdays, please sign up for the below dates instead; after that we will evaluate the participation in this Alternate Day Stableford to see if it will be continued further.
- Tuesday, 28 February and Tuesday, 4 April.
Friendly Matches
We have a number of Ladies' Friendly matches scheduled for this year. Please sign up and participate as much as you can. These competitions are a great way to meet ladies from other clubs (whom you may choose to have as your guest at the Invitational in September) as well as an opportunity to play different courses that you might not otherwise get a chance to play. And finally, the Friendlies are fantastic, no-stress events that show you how much fun match play can be!
Support the Chef
QHotels has given us a dedicated chef, but if we want to keep him, we need to make sure that we support him sufficiently to justify his being there. Please take a few extra minutes after your round to socialise with the other ladies and to eat a light lunch whenever possible. It will be time and money well spent.
