Thank you for responding
If you missed it, the R&A are undertaking a Rules modernisation initiative where they're aiming to make the Rules easier to understand, trying to address some of the game's current problems, such as speed of play, and ensure they fit the needs of today's game.
We gave you the opportunity to have your say on some of these changes in a recent survey, and we've now gone through your answers and there are some interesting outcomes. The vast majority of you agreed with most of the proposed changes, and it's easy to see why, but there was one particular change which had you split:
A golfer is no longer required to drop the ball from shoulder height; just one inch above the ground is fine
Is there any issue with the current ruling on dropping a ball from shoulder height? Will this quicken the speed of play? It's up for debate, and that's exactly what our survey was designed for. Thank you to everyone who responded and if you want to discuss any of the proposed changes further, come and speak to us in-store.
