Tuesday saw the Seniors holding their annual Almoners Day competition. Fourteen teams of four competed in a Texas Scramble to win the Almoners Trophy and produced some outstanding scores. Hats off to the winning team of Nigel Belshaw, Robert Wheeler, Ali Wardale and Ian Appleby, who notched a superb gross 63/net 51. 33 shots on the front 9, and 30 shots on the back 9 was a magnificent effort. Congratulations also to Seniors Almoner, Nigel Heller, for organising a great day.

Dunston progressed in this season’s Barnard Trophy on Wednesday, beating a strong Sprowston team by 3-2. With Sprowston having knocked out Sheringham in the previous round, this was a great result. Congratulations to team Captain Ian Percival, and team members Carl Browne, Gus Woodcock, Steve Woodgate, Andy Sims, Philip Thorpe, Derek Clements, Robert Wheeler, Simon Black and Martin Tidy.

On Thursday, Dunston Seniors completed their first double of the season, winning their friendly match away at Heacham by 4-2. Captain Gary Harrison claimed our second away victory in succession. Congratulations to the winning pairs: Derek Clements/Paul Leatherdale, Ray Underwood/Guy Brown, Simon Rump/Ken Jennings and Nigel Heller/Nigel Kimber.
